Springdale Art and Nature Center is guided by a volunteer board whose experience in art, education, nonprofit leadership and land stewardship gives every gift a strong foundation.
Mary Lee McDonald
Board Member, Art Classes Committee Chair
Mary Lee McDonald is the Director of the Carriage Factory Art Gallery in Newton, Kansas, and a mosaic artist who leads beginner-friendly mosaic workshops where every student leaves with a finished piece. She chairs Springdale's Art Classes Committee.

Laura King
Board Member, Trails Committee Chair
Laura King of Halstead brings years of experience from the Sedgwick County Zoo and a love of the Kansas outdoors to her role as Trails Committee Chair, helping plan and care for Springdale's walking trails. She is a graduate of Friends University.

Theresa Carrington
Board Member, Site Plan Committee Chair
For more than 20 years Theresa has led a successful nonprofit that pioneered an approach to ending poverty in developing nations, graduating 10,000 people out of extreme poverty. An expert in social entrepreneurship, she is a two-time TEDx speaker, has spoken for the U.S. Department of State, and is a 13-time Mid-America Emmy Award winner.
